We can easily imagine a more elaborate approval phase, where the user digitally signs the order document using a personal smart card and specific client software In this situation, we could provide a special download link to make the digital signature software open automatically, and receive the signed files back into the system if the user saves them in some special shared folder We could then recognize each file just by reading a special key in the uploaded file name, and link it to the original document to approve..

You can control the visibility of an item using the Visibility property. There are three enumeration values that this property can take: Visible: This is the default value, and makes the element visible. Hidden: This value makes the element invisible but the element still takes up the layout space in the container. Collapsed: This values also makes the element invisible but in this case, the element is omitted from the layout and takes no space. Visibly, anyway, it appears not to exist. Figure 5-7 shows two buttons where the Visibility property of Button 1 is set to different values. In the first case, both buttons are visible. The markup doesn t include the Visibility property because Visible is the default value. In the second case, the property is set to Hidden. The button is invisible, but you can see the space it s occupying. In the third case, the property is set to Collapsed. In this case, not only is the button invisible, but there is no visual evidence it even exists.

As it is, this package does nothing. Additionally, Zope doesn t recognize it yet, because it is not a normal Python package in the Zope Products folder, but a generic Python egg in the buildout src folder. Let s tell the buildout about it, adding these lines to the buildout.cfg file: [buildout] ... eggs = ... plonebook.regional_news develop = src/plonebook.regional_news ... [instance] ... zcml = plonebook.regional_news The last line lets Zope know that we want the package to be loaded at startup, and that we need it unless some other package includes it. As usual, after this modification, run the buildout script: $ cd ~/plonebook $ ./bin/buildout -v If everything went right, we should start our Zope instance and find plonebook.regional_ news in the Products section of the Zope control panel. Check it by starting the service: $ ./bin/instance fg and then pointing your web browser to http://localhost:8080/Control_Panel/Products/ manage. Obviously, installing the product into a Plone instance at this moment would not produce any extension to Plone itself. We just have a very advanced boilerplate!

Back in GoogleAppEngineLauncher, start the application by clicking the Run button in the toolbar (as shown earlier in Figure 2-8). Then click the Browse icon and admire the result, as shown in Figure 2-10.

The padding and margins of a visual element refer to extra space added to the element s layout. Padding is extra space added inside the element, between the content and the element s outer border. Margins are amounts of extra space added around the outside of the element.

Hey, you just created a GAE web service! Perhaps it s not the most useful, although who would have thought you could checkmate in ten lines of code
