A few of them went right back across the river into Manhattan and delivered cigarettes to local newsstands and neighborhood bodegas, which were selling the counterfeit cigarettes and making great pro t margins. Sure enough, one of the newsstands was right down the street from Brett s apartment; the investigation had really come full circle.
