With ASM 11.2, individual files can be defined to be triple-mirrored; two-way mirroring is the default. Normal redundancy can tolerate the failure of one ASM disk in the disk group. Even higher protection is available with high redundancy, which provides triple-mirroring by default. With triple-mirroring, two additional copies of the primary extent are created.
