That is, if you use the Property inspector to set the width of a Slider component instance to 400 rather than the default of 200, you want it to show up at runtime as 400 pixels wide, but not simply stretched. Instead, you d probably expect the track to be drawn 400 pixels wide, while the thumb bar remains the normal dimensions. Any authoring time transforms are applied as scale transforms basically updating the _xscale and _yscale properties of the instance. That means that by default, authoring-time transforms will cause the component to look squished or stretched. If you don t want the component to appear stretched or squished, you can set the _xscale and _yscale properties to 100 (default) in the component class constructor method. However, that also means that the dimensions of the component will be the default rather than the dimensions set at authoring time. In order to correctly set the dimensions, you need to set the _xscale and _yscale properties to 100, but before that you can read the _width and _height properties and assign those values to variables you can use to draw the component to the proper dimensions. For example, consider the Slider component example. The default dimensions are 200 10.
