Say you have two users who retrieve the entity representing the same product in the database at roughly the same time (such that the Product entity returned to both is identical). If both of those users decide to update that product, however, then you face a conundrum. If one user were to submit their changes, followed later by the other user, the first user s changes would be overwritten by the second user s changes, leading to the first user s updates being lost, and creating potential data integrity issues in your database.
