Cons: WPF requires the full .NET Framework to be installed on the machine. WPF is limited to running on Windows only. WPF does not have the hype and community/Microsoft support that Silverlight has. WPF has minimal restrictions, and it requires no sandbox (unless deployed via a browser as an XBAP without full trust turned on). WPF has the power of the full .NET Framework behind it. The preceding code generates a random seven-digit salt. The salt is prepended to the password string before hashing; this means that even if two users have the same password, their individual password hashes will be different.
