If you work in a wide-gamut color space, such as Adobe RGB (1998) or ProPhoto RGB, the colors will not match the preview in Photoshop when you preview the file in Save for Web. This is because the preview in Save for Web is not color managed and mimics the Web. The majority of the browsers do not support ICC profiles and assume a color space that is closer to sRGB and, for that reason, so does Save for Web; consequently, your image will appear dull and desaturated compared to the preview in Photoshop. To avoid this pitfall, convert to sRGB by using the Convert to Profile command in the Edit menu.
