If you are working with the same class of object that you want to display in a specific format, you can define an XML file for it, as shown in 21 in the section Changing How PowerShell Formats Objects. In that section, the Win32_logical disk object is one that has a predefined XML entry, but you can define your own XML file to override defaults. To get the same result as the function in the example, the XML would look like this:

If you want to make quick, easy slideshows that you can present and/or send to other people, Lightroom s Slideshow module often fits the bill. You can create, present and export slideshows with customized designs, transitions and soundtracks. You can play a slideshow from within Lightroom or export it in several formats. Lightroom 3 offers some significant improvements in the creation of slideshows. That said, Lightroom really can t compete with dedicated slideshow programs. I hope this chapter will show you all that s possible within Lightroom slideshows and help you see where Lightroom s slideshows fit in the larger landscape of on-screen presentation software. Set realistic expectations and I think you ll find you can use Lightroom for most of your slideshows. Working in Slideshow is similar to working in Web. The Slideshow workflow is: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Organize the photos that will go into the slideshow Go to the Slideshow module (and open all the panels) Make sure your photos are showing in the correct order in the Filmstrip Check the options in the Toolbar and change them if necessary Choose a template to start the layout process Customize the slide designs Add music or other audio soundtrack (optional) Preview your slideshow and make any necessary adjustments to settings Play the slideshow in Lightroom or export it to file(s) on disk

Many router vendors have developed mechanisms to improve QoS for timesensitive applications such as voice and video. Most of these techniques fall into two general categories: priority queuing and congestion avoidance mechanisms. Queuing mechanisms create multiple signal queues within the router and allocate the available bandwidth to these queues according to some algorithm and/or network administrator-suppliedrules. Cisco Systems technique, called Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), classifies various incoming data flows according to source/destination address, protocol in use, or application/port, and then grants each one of these flows a specific amount of outgoing bandwidth based on some fairness criteria. Congestion avoidance mechanisms augment the flow control properties that exist within protocols. With many of these protocols, such as TCP, data flows are retarded only after the network becomes congested, which causes packets to be dropped. The Random Early Detection (RED) and Weighted Random Early Detection (WRED) mechanisms attempt to anticipate when these congestion points will occur, and discard packets based on criteria such as buffer length or the Precedence bits within the IP header. Thus, RED or WRED minimizes the likelihood of large numbers of packets being sent to already congested queues, which would only result in further packet discard.
