Walsh code orthogonality can be exploited in the Forward CDMA Channel because MSs are phase-synchronized with the BS. Synchronization is acquired and maintained with the help of the Pilot and Sync Channels. There are 64 possible code channels in the Forward CDMA Channel, based on the number of available Walsh codes. A conceptual view of the bit manipulation process that generates the physical Forward CDMA Channel is shown in Fig. 13.2-1. Each code channel, after being spread with a Walsh code, is spread in quadrature with two short PN codes, before modulating the carrier for transmission. Quadrature spreading means that the bit stream is split into two branches, each spread separately with one of two PN sequences, and then modulated by two carriers with the same frequency but 90 degrees out of phase. The two branches, called I (in-phase) and Q (quadrature), are added together before transmission, resulting in quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation. Pilot Channel. This is a common channel used by the mobile station to measure the strength of the signal transmitted by a BS, to select the strongest signal, and to acquire initial synchronization with a BS via short PN code phase-offset detection. There is always one and only one Pilot Channel per Forward CDMA Channel. It carries an unmodulated signal of all zeros and is spread by Walsh code W0. This channel is sent with higher power than the other channels, so it has a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), making it easy to acquire.

It is important to remain consistent regarding your approach to granting access to the Report Manager and to items within the Report Manager. Consider your environment when choosing how to manage and assign access and whether you grant access to Active Directory groups or to individual users. If you have already taken the effort to create Active Directory groups in your organization, you can most likely leverage your existing groups to administer access to your report server. For example, if you have an Active Directory group for accounting, you can simply create a new system role assignment for that group to grant all of the accounting members access to the report server. Perhaps you will have an Accounting folder with accounting reports to which only accounting employees should have access. When creating this folder, simply adjust the inherited role assignments to ensure that only the accounting group has access. Regardless of which strategy you choose (user vs. groups), by maintaining a consistent approach, you will minimize maintenance, research, and troubleshooting efforts in the future.

The Parts only BOM ignores subassembly structure and only displays parts in an un-indented list. The Indented BOM shows the parts of subassemblies in an indented list under the name of the subassembly. This is the most complete list of SolidWorks documents used because it includes all parts and assemblies. The Show Numbering option for indented assemblies is only activated after the Indented option is selected and you have placed the table. When you use this option, it causes subassembly parts to be numbered with an X.Y number system. For example, if item number 4 is a subassembly and it has three parts, those parts are numbered 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3.

The meaning of compatibility is different for each of those types of usage In the rst case, compatibility means the ability to interpret all the data correctly through the changed ontology This is much like the interpretation of compatibility in database schema versioning Compatibility here means preservation of instance data In the second case, the effects of the changes on the logical model that the ontology forms are often important Other ontologies that import an ontology might depend on the conclusions that can be drawn from it A change in the ontology should not make previous conclusions invalid In this case, compatibility means consequence preservation Applications that use the ontology might depend on the logical model, but also on the characteristics of the ontology itself.

Some programs do the associating for you. Internet Explorer automatically anoints itself the default program for all HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and URL (Uniform Resource Locator) files. Other programs are more polite and present you with a menu of file extensions that you might or might not wish to associate with it. For example, you might favor a media player other than the Microsoft version, a different word processor than Word, or a spreadsheet other than Excel. Your choices often urge you to make them the defaults for those types of files. By selecting the default applications for specific file extensions, you eliminate the need to choose the program each time you open an item with that particular extension.
