Once your code invokes the AppSettings method of the Configuration.ConfigurationSettings object, dynamic properties are read from the application s file and cached in the NameValueCollection object. If you modify the .config file, the contents of this object aren t updated automatically, so in most cases you have to restart the applica tion. Interestingly, if you modify the configuration file of an ASP.NET application, the runtime restarts the application and automatically enforces the new settings.
